At Timber Frame Houses, Inc., we discriminate in the selection and preparation of timbers. We use southern white pine, which grows in abundance in the Great Smoky Mountains.
We choose sturdy, straight trees that grew sheltered from the twisting forces of wind. We cut our own trees to fit each particular job, ensuring the most efficient use of the wood. And we select only the finest quality timbers that will age gracefully and not sag over time or twist in unpredictable ways.
